An aromatic smorgasbord of tobacco smoke, cedar wood, fruitcake, black cherries, and currants jumps from the glass of this medium-bodied, austere, angular 2002. Although somewhat superficial, what is there is complex, elegant, and savory. It will drink well for 8-10 years.

Mid ruby. Light, vaguely aromatic/minty nose. Delicate-texture with some slightly astringent tannins and without quite enough fruit to counterbalance them. Fresh acidity and some sweetness on the front palate. Utterly unlike the St-Émilion 21st century mainstream but none the worse for it. Very fresh, dry and relatively lightweight. It's certainly very Figeac-like.
